Slurries and Abrasives
Hydra-Cell® seal-less design enables reliable pumping of slurries and abrasives
Slurries and abrasive liquids can present major challenges to pumps.
Reducing or eliminating rotating parts in the process liquid can help improve reliability and cost of ownership, especially with fine particles in the slurry as these can damage clearances between rotating particles. Increasing these clearances reduces the efficiency of the pumping action as the flow rate falls off. If the duty of the pump is to meter a constant flow rate in the process then the process quality is affected. All these challenges increase as the discharge pressure increases.
The Hydra-Cell pump design, with the combination of the seal-free and packing-free design, with no rotating dynamic seals and with spring-loaded disc valves, results in a pumping action that reduces maintenance and servicing costs when pumping abrasive liquids.
