Tank and tote wash-down
Hydra-Cell's Canadian distributor has helped several customers with one of the pump’s most successful applications - tank cleaning. On containers of any size, from big tanks to totes, drums, mixer vessels and tanker trucks, Hydra-Cell's seal-less technology has given excellent results. It allows the handling of the contaminated, recycled fluids that can ruin packed or sealed pumps. Moreover the pumps are available in a wide choice of materials compatible with some of the harshest cleaning agents in use, including caustics and MEK. And can deliver these solutions at the pressures that successful high-impact cleaning often requires.
Here are some examples:
One company manufactures automotive paint at its Canadian plant. It uses two H-25 pumps to deliver acetone and MEK for cleaning the mixing tanks. The pumps feed rotating tank-cleaning nozzle heads equipped with high impact, solid stream nozzles. Each pump delivers approximately 20 gpm (75 l/min) at 1000 psi (69 bar).
Another Canadian company manufactures latex paint. An H-25 pump delivers 21 gpm (79 l/pm) of cold water at 400 psi (28 bar) to feed automatic tank cleaning nozzles.
A third company manufactures pharmaceutical products. To deal with the different sizes and shapes of storage and mixing vessels, a portable cleaning unit was needed. A Hydra-Cell D-10, mounted on a stainless steel cart, pumps up to 8 gpm (30 l/min) of methanol through the tank cleaner at approximately 500 psi (35 bar).
The same large pharmaceutical company uses a Hydra-Cell D-35 pump delivering hot water at 35 gpm and 350 psi pressure (130 l/min at 24 bar) to clean tanks containing photo-process chemicals.
Any company that manufactures, stores, transports or uses bulk liquids in its process is likely to need tank cleaning equipment and use cleaning liquid. Whatever the liquid, Hydra-Cell pumps are designed to handle it.
