Hydra-Cell® Pumps in Gas Processing Applications - BTEX Units
Safe removal of BTEX (Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylenes) aromatic components
The removal of BTEX (Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylenes ) aromatic components by the Aromatic Fractionation Unit from natural gas prior to liquification is critical for efficient LNG production. If not removed BTEX aromatics can cause precipitation of solids (freezing) and fouling of main liquefaction heat exchangers.
The BTEX is then either processed by the chemical unit in the refinery or sold to a chemical facility to be processed for production int a wide range of chemicals from solvents, to fibres, films and plastics.
The unique features of the Hydra-Cell® pump technology make it an ideal solution for safely pumping applications in BTEX processing.
Process Challenges
- Low viscosity and non lubricating liquid
- To keep the BTEX liquid 100% contained to protect plant personnel, the risk of explosion from vapours and the environment
Hydra-Cell® Pump Advantages
No Seals. No Packing.
The pump and pumping action is not affected by the low viscosity, non lubricating BTEX
- The BTEX is 100% contained keeping operators safe, protecting the environment and eliminating emissions of flammable gas
ATEX certification by independent body for use in explosive zones
